Eliminating Impatience & Developing Trust in Your Intuition

Many gifted healers ache to bring their gifts to the world, but then find themselves stuck when it comes to marketing those gifts.

In coaching these dedicated, spiritual entrepreneurs, it is clear to me that their marketing challenges occur because they are unclear about one of the following three elements:  their message, their market (whom they are serving), or their media (the vehicle through which they are conveying their message).

If your message is not clear – if the people you are meant to serve do not even know what you are offering, then how can they decide that they need you and want to work with you?

In addition if you are not clear about who your market is (or what your niche is), then it is very difficult to find the people to even share your message with them.  And let’s not even talk about the media!

Marketing always starts with knowing what your business’s message is – what your message to the world is.  But here’s the thing — you can’t figure out your message to the world unless you know why you’re in business to begin with, can you?  (We’ll work on your message in the future.  For now, let’s just concentrate on this first step.)

Answering these questions will help you figure this out, if you don’t know already.  Ask yourself:

1.  Why am I in business for myself? Or… Why am I doing this business?

2.  What is my vision for my business or for my work?  What do I stand for? Or… What does my business stand for?

3.  What is it that I want my business to create?  What change do I want my business/work to create in the world?

Make a list to answer each of these questions because if as you get clearer about why you are in business, you will get clearer about how to market your business.  But it starts first with having your vision and being clear about what that is that you do and what gifts you are bringing to the world.

If you take the time to do this, you will begin to clarify a big piece of your marketing message.  And that, in turn, will attract more clients!  It cannot help but attract more clients.  Clarity always equals attraction.

What’s Your Impatience Factor?

One of the challenges that many people face when developing their intuition is what I call the Impatience Factor.  Our minds want to understand right here, right now, what the intuitive hit means.

However, oftentimes we are given only pieces of information.  (Think of it as putting together a puzzle.)  When our ego gets involved and wants to understand the whole picture and even demands to understand the whole picture, this is when we get into trouble, this is when we get into doubt, and this is when we fall into not trusting our intuition.

And we begin to think that we must understand it all right now, or there’s something wrong with us, or that this intuition thing doesn’t work.

That is not it the case at all.  Rather, it is simply that you have been given a piece of information.  If you can set it to the side and wait for more information to come, then you’ll begin to see how you are being led intuitively.

Check to see your own Impatience Factor.  How high is it?  See if you can allow the information to come to you without demanding that you understand everything right here, right now.  If you can do this, you will have gone a long way to developing trust in your intuition.

Daily Intuitive Journaling

When my clients and students are learning to develop and trust their intuition, one of the main exercises they do is get a journal, where they can write down the intuitive hits that they receive on a daily basis.

What happens is that they quickly realize that they are receiving many intuitive hits and they begin to trust what they receive.

Even if you don’t understand something in the moment, but it seems to be an intuitive hit, write it down anyway.  Sometimes you will get a piece of the puzzle which you don’t fully understand until later.  This way you have it written down, and when you go back to read your intuitive hits, you really get some “Ah-Ha!” moments.

So, go get a journal – make it a beautiful one – and start writing down your intuitive hits.  See what unfolds for you.  I believe you will discover that you develop your intuition far more quickly than you could possibly imagine – and you will really begin to trust the information you receive!

Your Divine Whisper

New Blog, New Life – Let’s Celebrate!

In January 2011, this blog changed.  After a year and a half of writing the Divine Whispers, they felt complete and I strongly felt guided to share how to develop and use our intuition in a new way – both in our lives and in our businesses.  Today’s blog is the first of those new shares.

As an entrepreneur, you know that your number one job is to listen to your market, to hear what it is they want to learn about, and then to offer it to them.  And as I listened to my market, I learned that they are looking for ways to understand how to connect with their intuition so that they can trust what they receive and then take action upon it.

This is particularly helpful for an entrepreneur, because we have so many decisions to make every day, decisions like with whom should I work?  Whom should I hire?  Should I take this training or that one?  Should I spend money (or time) here or there?  And so on.

It is my passion to share what I have learned over the last 10 years as I have actively developed my intuition, and developed my own business.  And so this blog takes a new turn, one into the world of intuitive development and looking at how we use our intuition – in particular in our businesses.

If you have been to this site before, you will likely notice some changes – new graphics, new layout, new colors, new picture.  It all is a reflection of the evolution of my business and my journey as an entrepreneur – and, of course, my own inner journey.

So here’s an little example of how I used my intuition as this change occurred.  During this process I got stuck in a number of different areas.  (It’s natural, right?)  And once I realized I was stuck, I backed off of what I was struggling with, I got quiet, and I asked for help.  When I couldn’t find the right colors for the website to fit the new graphic and I realized I was spending far too much time playing with it, I realized I needed to ask for help. So, I got quiet and asked for help from my guides and my angels – from my intuitive connection to the Divine.  And right after asking, I found this light pink color, which I absolutely love.  (Hopefully, you will, too.)

So here’s the thing, as you are going through your day, begin to get present to situations where you can ask for help.  Get quiet, go within, and ask for direction, and see what comes to you.  You’ll be delightfully surprised at how quickly your answer will come.

Have fun with it.  Our intuition is ever so much fun to play with and developing and trusting your intuition will be one of the best things you will ever do for yourself, and for your business!

How Intuitive Are You?

MP3 File

“How do you know if you’re intuitive?” someone asked recently. “I mean, I think I am, but I’m not really sure what that means.”

She’s not alone.

Many people wonder if they are intuitive.  Let me start off by saying “Everyone is intuitive.”

Now, before you go “Yeah, right!” let me explain.  Intuitive abilities are inherent in each one of us, just as our ability to breathe is inherent.

You see, most people think of intuition as being psychic.  And to some degree, they are right.  But not fully.  Psychic is a higher level of intuition – intuition that is more refined.   Intuition, on the other hand, is actually a very balanced way of experiencing life.  It involves both left-brain logic and right-brain creativity.  Being intuitive involves paying attention to the subtle and not-so-subtle clues that are given to us every day by life, and the people around us.

Intuition is the ability to see life beyond the five senses.  It is the ability to live your life from a heart-centered, even spiritual, way.  People who live in a five-sensory way see life filled with limitations and fear; they feel victimized by others and by life itself.  They feel they must compete with and control those around them in order to feel safe.  People who live in a five-sensory way live life from a place of fear, from the ego.  They do not trust in a higher purpose, and they certainly do not believe they can change their world.

Perhaps you know people like this.

A sixth-sensory person, on the other hand, lives life (maybe not all the time, but most of the time) with a focus on trust and faith.  They believe they are here for a reason, and have gifts to bring to the world around them.  (And they believe the world wants those gifts!)  They believe they are connected with others.  They believe in possibility and in creativity.  They believe in something greater than themselves, and feel as though they are a part of the whole.

You see, each one of us has the ability to be six-sensory.  For some, however, the sixth sense lies dormant until one is ready to awaken to it.  Each of us has the ability to trust and have faith – to see life from a higher, broader perspective.  Each has the ability to believe in possibility and creativity – to believe in connection with one another at a deeper level.

It is up to us to step into our sixth sense and activate it as we decide.  It is up to us to choose to be six-sensory.

Personally, I think that’s pretty awesome, don’t you?

There are specific steps we can take to activate our sixth sense more regularly.  I’ll be covering these in future ezine articles, so stay tuned.  For now, however, here is one action you can begin to take each and every day to help you develop your intuition more fully.

Your Action Steps:

Every day, begin your day by envisioning it going well.  Hold the intention of meetings being successful, of connections being made that are deep and supportive, of work being completed with clarity and focus.  Tell yourself it’s going to be a fabulous, wonderful, successful day!  Envision your day at the beginning of the day going well.  Your ability to envision a positive outcome will help you create the very thing you want.

By the way, pay attention to the moments when you catch yourself grumbling about someone or something – in that moment you are envisioning what you DON’T want, so catch yourself and stop.  Turn the other cheek and begin to envision what you DO want.

Have fun with it!
