Last week, I celebrated my birthday. It was a beautiful day. I took the day off from work, got a massage, and spent some time with a dear friend.
One of the things I have done on my birthday for years is to look at what I want to create in the upcoming year (similar to New Year’s Eve). I even keep those intentions in a special journal.
Oddly enough, this year, I didn’t do that. I pulled out my journal, but I just kind of ignored it.
So I started wondering “Do I not have any intentions?”
No, that’s not it. I do. I have intentions.
“Do I just not feel like writing them down?”
Maybe.
Since Pixie has passed, there is a lot more space in my world (some might call it emptiness). I don’t want to fill it. Instead, I just want to experience it. And do little things that make me happy.
So I’ve been quiet. Reading books. Playing with crystals. Reorganizing things. Connecting with my family. Playing with our kitties (we adopted 3 kittens last fall!). And, of course, loving my business.
For the last 3 years, I’ve been so focused on business and on
taking care of Pixie that I didn’t really have much time or energy (or even interest) for many other things.
I know there will be a time again when my attention is on something big and exciting, and that journal will be filled with my intentions.
But right now, I’m enjoying the calm, soothing quiet.
