What is Your Aura Telling You?

Your aura, or the energy body that surrounds your body, is a sensitive detection system, which detects the subtle energies around you.

Your aura surrounds your body like an invisible field, it actually goes before you, picking up information and transmitting that information to you through your body’s responses.

Have you ever gone into a situation, or a place that just doesn’t feel right, but you just don’t know why?  It’s your aura picking up information.  Have you ever met someone you instantly connected with?  Your aura was letting you know.

In order to understand more completely what your aura is telling you, the next time you get a flash of information about something, take a moment to stop and ask yourself what happened, or what that information was about.

Then just pay attention to the new information you get: it might be colors, or flashes of an image or you might get thoughts and words.  Notice it all, and then thank your energy body for giving you the information.

(Here are some photos of people’s actual auras, taken with Kirlian photography.)

By paying attention to your energy body, you will strengthen your trust in your own ability to read situations and people, and you will be able to get information about the truth of a situation, even if it appears to be something different.

Happy intuiting!

3 Ways to Step into Your Magical Self

Last week, the Divine (or Spirit or God or the Universe – whatever you like to call it) showed me something that validated this journey we are all on together:  when you put your intention out there, when you speak it to others, it shows up in your life. Now this isn’t something new; I’ve been preaching this to you (the metaphorical choir) from the beginning.

And yet, I discovered again how true it is.  Let me tell you what happened…

On Thursday, Feb. 25, I wrote the blog for Saturday, Feb. 27.  I sent it to Christina (my assistant) as she was taking on more of the administrative work.  I then left it in her capable hands to get out to you guys, and to get posted onto my website, which she did.

Here’s what that blog said:

February 27, 2010 – Today’s Affirmation: I tune into the magic of my soul!

Today, I am clear about how magical I am.

I realize that I have the ability to create my life to be just what I desire most.  And while I am aware I must learn how to do this better and better, today, I spend time being present to that magic that I already am.  I spend time being present to the power I already have.  I spend time being present to the wonder that I already have created.

Today, I see my alchemist abilities grow and grow.  I love feeling magical and charmed! I connect with these abilities, and I realize that I AM these abilities!

I AM Magical!  I AM Charmed!

And so it is.

On Saturday night (the night the blog was published), as I was getting out of the shower and blowing out the candles (yes, I had taken a shower by candlelight which was oh, so nice!), I thought “Aaaahhh, magic!”  And then I remembered a number of other magical experiences of the day:  a lovely nap, a yummy foot rub given to me by Francisco (my beloved hubby), a candlelight dinner with him, errands run that were fun and completely delightful, a cuddling time with Pixie, my sweet kitty, a delicious fruit salad meal with my favorite fruits, my Valentine’s Day roses that were now in full bloom, a beautiful full moon that I could see from the window as I was taking my wonderful shower, a phone call with someone dear to me, and so on.

You see, when we state our intention not only to ourselves, but to the world around us, we begin to notice how our lives show up and how the Divine supports our statement of intention.  Now here’s the thing:  if we are in alignment with our statement, then life just flows to us.  If, however, we are not in alignment with our statement, well, then … uh-oh.  Watch how the Universe will show you the areas where you are not in alignment.  It is then your work to move yourself into alignment with your intention.  (That’s always our work, by the way.)

It’s obvious that I was in alignment with feeling magical and charmed.  I had no resistance to it.  And yes, for those of you who are asking, there are statements I write that I’m not fully in alignment with… of course.  However, having said that, I am always moving into alignment with them and paying attention to what the Divine is showing me AND doing the work.  Why?  Because I want my life to be one that works for me in all ways, one that is so completely in alignment with my conscious intention that I have no resistance to being at one with the Divine.  It’s worth doing the work.

So, here are the lessons from this:

1.    State your intention for what it is you want. Do you want a beautiful day?  State it.  Do you want a productive meeting?  State it.  Do you want to feel abundant?  State it.  The Universe hears and brings to you want you have stated.

2.    State your intention to others. Here’s where it gets tricky.  When you state your intention to others, be very clear that you may have those who will not support you.  But guess what?  These naysayers are your best teachers.  Why?  Because they are letting you know that a part of you believes (or is fearful about) what they are saying.  Your work then becomes clearing that resistance out.

3.    Pay attention to how the Divine delivers your intention.  Because it will.  It might be in small doses.  So what?  Pay attention to them and fill yourself with gratitude for those doses.  You are strengthening your belief in yourself and your ability to co-create with the Divine when you notice your life working.

Your Action Steps:

To start playing with this in a conscious co-creative way, it’s time to take some steps.

1.    Get clear about what you want right here, right now.  (By the way, be gentle with yourself here.  Choose non-resistant things that will help you build your energy of belief in yourself and in your abilities.)

2.    Begin to state what it is you want to yourself, to the Divine.

3.    If you are ready, begin to state what it is you want to others.

4.    Pay attention to how it shows up in your life – in large or in small doses.

5.    Acknowledge the areas that show up. (This will increase your own believability in yourself.)

6.    Be grateful.  (You will begin to manifest more and more, faster and faster with this one simple tool: gratitude.)

7.    Have fun with it!

Check Those Thoughts at the Door!

A new friend on Twitter asked me this week “How do you stay so positive and upbeat?” I told her that I’m not always like that, but that EFT has made a huge difference in my life in being able to be that way a lot of the time.

My mother tells me that I was an unhappy child. I remember being unhappy as a teenager (not so much as a child, although I do remember some difficult periods), and making a few life choices as a young adult that I wish I hadn’t (I actually call my 20s my “stupid 20s”). Then my daughter was born and there were rainbows and sunshine and lollipops in my world.

Still, I hadn’t learned how to control my thoughts. I focused a lot on what I didn’t have, and I focused on how life wasn’t fair and where I felt less than. I thought if I could control the world around me then life would be good.

Welllll, it doesn’t quite work that way. No, indeedy. And I was about to learn this – big time.

Trauma occurred. In a big way. Ouch. It wasn’t pretty and it definitely wasn’t fun. For two and a half years, I tried many different ways to get out of the emotional pain I was in. I trained in and became a Reiki Master. I trained in and became a hypnotherapist. I trained in and became an Angel Therapy Practitioner. I studied gardening and created one. I got help from numerous different therapists. I meditated, and studied book after book to learn how to heal. Still, I got triggered over and over and over again.

Then EFT entered my life. I trained in and became an EFT practitioner. And during the first training, the emotional pain I had been in for two and a half years released. It was gone. I was stunned at how effective this simple tool was. And thrilled that I had learned it.

That was in 2002. I’ve been using it ever since – on myself, on clients, on students, on family, on friends, on pets, even on strangers! It is effective. It truly works.

Still, I had to learn the next phase: to think better. We are powerful creators, and we create through our thoughts. While I understood this conceptually, living it – being it – was a different matter. Know what I mean?

Slowly, I began to understand the power of my own thoughts to create my life. Not just my thoughts, but the energy – or the intensity of the emotion – behind my thoughts. I learned how to think better.

Oddly enough, it seemed the more I practiced thinking better the more I could see all the areas in which I wasn’t thinking better. sigh… At times, it felt discouraging, which I finally realized was me creating more of the same. Round and round and round the circle I went, until I began to really get ahold of my thinking process.

Consciousness is a process. It doesn’t happen overnight. Pieces of “Ah-Ha!” happen and things fall into place. We forget and we remember. We remember and we forget. And always, we move forward – even though at times it seems as though we are moving backward.

This week, I am with my 22-year old daughter, my daughter’s fiance, my mother, and my former husband. We all get along great, for the most part. Until a bump in the road occurs. Then I get to take a look again at my own beliefs, my own expectations, my own fears, my own desires, and adjust them accordingly. Or not.

I get to choose my own level of happiness – regardless of what anyone else is doing, saying, thinking or being.

Is it hard? Yeah, you bet … sometimes. But I know what’s in it for me if I stay the course and maintain my own level of peacefulness.

Am I successful? Not always. More so than I used to be. But I still get triggered by something someone else says, or does. (This very morning, I heard myself having a conversation in my head with someone that wasn’t very nice. In that moment, I realized I was creating my future by having that conversation and I had to “Stop it!”) It is in those conscious moments that we hear ourselves and change our thoughts that we then choose the direction of our lives.

What are you thinking into being?
